11/6/2022 0 Comments Smallville season 5 kickass![]() ![]() Fanatic was mediocre but it moved the Senate plot and Lockdown was good continuity from Arrival although I didn't think it was great. I really enjoyed Lexmas and I thought the juxtaposition between Lex's dream and reality was done amazingly well in pushing him to the dark side. We get to see Clark's deepest fears (one of which actually comes true in the middle of the season.) and the touching moment with Martha was amazing. ![]() SPLINTER AND SOLITUDE were my favorites of the season since they showcased Brainiac's abilities in both episodes. I wasn't into Exposed but Lois and Clark's lines at the end were nice. The episode Thirst was weird but I loved seeing Fine's involvement with Lex and Clark. The episode Aqua had its flaws but was still enjoyable since it introduced Aquaman and Milton Fine. I loved the scene with Clark dying and then coming back to life while saving Earth from the missile Superman-style. It introduced so many new elements to the story such as the Fortress of Solitude, Lex finally going evil, Lion-el, Brainiac, the new dynamic between Clark and Chloe (with Chloe finding out Clark's secret), and Clark and Lana finally being together after five years! After Arrival, we had Clark's journey as a human in Mortal where he faces the challenges of being human and finally ending his friendship with Lex (the fight at the end of Mortal was amazing!). The premiere of the Season, Arrival, was AMAZING and my favorite season premiere so far. ![]() I thought this season started out with a bang. I personally like to divide my thoughts of the season by pre- and post- Reckoning as many of my opinions of the Season start to change after that episode.
